Langkawi - Jellyfish ID required

The MNS Marine Group's Admin received an e-mail from a reader asking for help to identify jellyfish found in Langkawi. For those who can help her, please post your comments here.

To MNS Marine Group,

I am not sure if any of your group have been hearing about jellyfish issues lately in Langkawi.

We don't have marine biologist on the island, but a small group of us (guides and as well as MNS members) wish to get some help to identify the species of jellies that we found. You may refer to this blog for some information: http://wchinner.blogspot.com/search/label/Box%20Jellyfish

The pictures attached. Any help would be great.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Wchinner, Langkawi

  2. I would like to ask for permission on any news about these species. Although I do think I could give you help: the top image is a Chironex sp., the middle some sort of Carybdeid Cubozoan, and the last one, maybe Rophilema hispidum.
